The Early Years Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing, safe, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children ages 3–5. This role involves implementing early childhood education curriculum, promoting social and cognitive development, and working collaboratively with parents, fellow teachers, and administrators to support each child's growth and well‐being.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Develop and implement lesson plans based on state early learning standards and school curriculum.
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that encourages curiosity and learning through play.
* Monitor and support the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of preschool‐aged children.
* Use observation and assessment tools to track student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
* Communicate regularly with parents and guardians through conferences, newsletters, and daily reports.
* Collaborate with Early Years teachers, educators and support staff to manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
* Ensure the classroom meets health, safety, and licensing standards at all times.
* Participate in professional development opportunities and staff meetings.
* Maintain accurate and up‐to‐date student records, including attendance, developmental milestones, and incident reports.
* Promote the values and mission of the school in all interactions with children, families, and colleagues.
* Establish and maintain appropriate interpersonal relationships between the school, parents, external providers and the community.
