Your New Opportunity:
We have a full-time permanent opportunity for an experienced Off-Highway Leading Hand to join our dynamic Workshop team in Townsville. As a leader, you will support a team of heavy vehicle/diesel mechanics to exceed customer expectations, meet productivity targets, and maintain a safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and mentor a team of mechanics and apprentices to leverage their strengths and develop areas for improvement.
* Be hands-on and lead day-to-day service work, including diagnosis, servicing, and minor/major repairs.
* Direct the workshop team to achieve efficiencies in operation and monitor performance.
* Assist the leadership team to ensure accurate technician reports, timekeeping, and job reports are completed.
* Maintain quality workmanship and enhance the customer experience.
About You:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in heavy vehicle or engine-related business or similar.
* Trade-qualified Diesel Mechanic or similar.
* Previous experience as a Leading Hand or Senior Mechanic is highly desirable.
* Hold a current HR licence or ability to obtain one.
* Strong desire to lead, motivate, and coach a high-performing team.
* Excellent knowledge and experience in Western Star, MAN, MTU, Dennis Eagle, Detroit Diesel, and Allison product lines.
