About the Role 
Working within the Synod Archives at the Centre for Ministry in North Parramatta, this is a unique opportunity to catalogue and preserve records of the Uniting Church. Reporting to the Synod Archivist, you will assist with metadata enhancement, database entry, and the care of archival collections. 
Key Responsibilities 
Appraise, arrange, and describe physical archival materials 
Apply metadata and transcribe descriptions into the Archives database (SharePoint) 
Assist with the organisation and preservation of historical records 
Perform manual handling tasks (e.g., lifting archive boxes) 
Support the broader Information Management team as needed 
About You 
You're detail-oriented, methodical, and passionate about archival work. Whether you're currently studying or already qualified in archives, records management, or information studies, you're ready to contribute to a collaborative, purpose-led team. 
Experience in archival description, categorisation, and preservation 
Strong computer literacy and data entry skills 
Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills 
Ability to work flexibly and maintain confidentiality 
A preparedness to work within the polity and ethos of the Uniting Church in Australia
