Trainee Teacher • Large multi-campus Christian school • Part-time (2 days/week), fixed-term position • Any Chairo campus
We are currently seeking to appoint a Trainee Teacher to work part-time while studying for either a Bachelor of Education or Master of Teaching at either Eastern College Australia or Christian Heritage College through CITE Alliance Victoria.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a caring Christian environment and learn on-the-job skills while studying to become a teacher.
About Chairo Christian School
Chairo Christian School is a non-denominational Christian school with 1,900 Kinder to Year 12 students attending five campuses in West and South Gippsland, the Latrobe Valley and the south-eastern outskirts of Melbourne.
Our mission is to provide excellence in Christ-centred education in partnership with families within a caring Christian community. In doing this, we aim to prepare students thoroughly for further study, careers, service and life in general.
Responsibilities
- Provide a godly example to students and fellow staff members through their practice, manner, relationships and general lifestyle
- Support teachers in development of differentiated lesson plans
- Assess and provide feedback to students
- Assist classroom teachers with monitoring and maintaining student pastoral care and wellbeing
- Engage in the faith life of the school, including attendance at events such as staff devotions or worship
Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to the school’s Statement of Faith
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Understanding of appropriate behaviours when working with children
- Valuable computer literacy skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
