The Opportunity:
Reporting to Fabrication Manager and Leading Hand, the Boilermaker plays a crucial role in Avid Fabrication, responsible for interpreting technical drawings and specifications to fabricate, assemble, install and repair metal structures and components. This role demands high quality workmanship, adherence to safety and compliance standards and effective collaboration within the fabrication team to meet project deadlines and customer requirements.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
* General metal fabrication requirements – Medium and Heavy
* Perform structural repairs and modifications to existing equipment and infrastructure
* Inspect fabricated products for accuracy, quality and compliance
* Operate hand and power tools and heavy machinery safely and efficiently
* Maintain personal tools and workshop equipment in good working conditions
* Strictly always follow WHS regulations and Avids zero harm safety policies.
Key requirements:
ESSENTIAL
* Certificate III in Engineering- Fabrication Trade (or equivalent)
* Proven experience as a Boilermaker or in a similar heavy fabrication role
* Proficient in MIG, TIG and Stick welding processes – Ticketed an advantage
* Strong understanding of workshop safety, WHS obligations and risk management
* Ability to read and interpret detailed technical drawings and specifications
* Physical fitness and capability to handle manual tasks in a workshop environment.
DESIRABLE
* High risk work licenses (e.g. forklift, overhead crane, EWP)
* Experience with modular fabrication, heavy industry an advantage
