About the position:
We are seeking a Night Forklift Operator to efficiently manage the distribution of freight within our Port Augusta Depot. The position is responsible for loading, unloading, sorting and staging consignments from receival through to dispatch.
Additionally, the Forklift Operator will manage inbound and outbound freight, report damaged goods, consolidate pallets for return and complete daily pre-start activities and vehicle checks to ensure safe and effective operations.
This position is permanent full-time working 38 hours each week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM
What you will be doing:
* Precise and efficient freight distribution.
* Regular utilisation of forklifts which include loading and unloading trucks and trailers.
* Operation of sorting aids such as scanners, tapers, hand trolley jacks, and other equipment essential for freight sorting.
* Collaborative and efficient teamwork.
About you:
* Current Forklift License
* HR License (Desirable)
* Prior forklift experience within a logistics setting.
* Proficiency in understanding and adhering to the Chain of Responsibility and Safe Manual Handling Practices.
* A steadfast commitment to safety protocols and a collaborative teamwork approach.
* Exceptional attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to accuracy.
* Literacy and comprehension.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
