Salary: WHA-2 $1,084 – $1,095.10 per week (Pro‐rata)

Overview

This is a unique opportunity to work on Australia's picturesque Kangaroo Island as a Service Assistant.

Responsibilities

The Service Assistant will support the hospital and aged care facilities across the hotel services sector, including cleaning, catering, and general housekeeping.

• Preparation, service, and delivery of food to clients.
• Housekeeping duties including cleaning and sanitising.
• General support for client care activities.

Eligibility & Requirements

• A current driver's licence and willingness to drive on country roads.
• Flexibility and commitment to a rostering system (including weekend work).
• Limited experience in housekeeping, cooking/catering, and laundry.
• Experience working with Aboriginal consumers.
• Knowledge of safe working conditions, Food Safety Standards, and Infection Control Standards.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Desirable

• Successful completion of Year 11 High School or equivalent.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Additional experience in housekeeping, cooking/catering, and laundry.

Checks & Health Requirements

• DHS Working With Children Check (WWCC).
• National Police Certificate (NPC) for employment involving unsupervised contact with vulnerable groups.
• Immunisation Risk – Category A (Direct Contact with blood or body substances). SA Health requires vaccination policy compliance.
