We are a trusted contract services company to the construction, mining and marine industries delivering innovative and practical solutions in accordance with their client's needs including project administration, logistics and civil construction for marine and land-based applications.
Due to a recent organisation review, we are needing an Intermediate Accountant who will play a vital role in supporting the financial management and operational efficiency of our business. This position is responsible for managing financial processes, ensuring accurate billing, preparing financial, cash-flow, budget and project performance reports, and maintaining effective asset and inventory management.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised with strong attention to detail and eager to implement process improvements. This role requires a solid accounting background and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional team members, clients and suppliers. This position is full time (Mon-Fri) and is based within the Shire of Rockingham at our Head Office. Please read carefully.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of accurate and timely financial reports in accordance with the business needs including budget variance reporting, cash-flow analysis, and forecasting.
- Supporting operational managers in relation to key financial indicators to facilitate informed decision making and projecting financial forecasts.
- Evaluate overhead costs trend and prepare analysis reports for forecast, target planning and month-end closing.
- Conduct the daily management and forecasting company’s financial data.
- Analyse financial data and provide recommendations to improve cost efficiency and financial performance.
- Develop financial models, conduct bench-marking and process analysis.
- Help with job costing and project financial tracking.
- Gain exposure to construction-specific accounting challenges.
- Prepare and distribute reports.
- Investigate discrepancies and liaise with the Financial Accountant on variances.
- Perform ad hoc administrative and accounting tasks as required.
- Promote and adhere to WH&S; policies and workplace safety practices.
About You
- Completed a degree in Business, Commerce, Economics with a major in accounting.
- Or Minimum of Cert IV in Accounting & Bookkeeping with being a registered BAS Agent.
- Be detail oriented, eager to learn and ready to take on new challenges.
- Keen to gain exposure to a diverse range of clients and industries.
- Comfortable working independently, communicate effectively and work well in a small collaborative team.
- 1-5 Year experience in accounting and/or finance field with previous exposure to construction/mining/civil projects.
- Experience with financial reporting and analysis.
- Excellent Microsoft Office and Accounting programs skills.

- Must have reliable transport and be residing in Perth.
