The Curtin Centre for Optimisation and Decision Science is a leading research centre that works with industry and government to develop new optimisation technology.
About the Role
This 3-year full-time position is an exciting opportunity for a postdoctoral researcher to join our Centre and contribute to solving complex modelling and decision problems.
Your Responsibilities
You will work with industry and government partners to apply optimisation methods to real-world problems, publish your work in reputable international journals, and contribute to other activities such as preparing proposals for research funding and professional consultancy.
What You Need To Succeed
* A doctoral qualification in mathematical sciences
* A track record of publications in high-quality international journals in optimisation, applied mathematics, and operations research
* A strong theoretical background in relevant areas such as linear and nonlinear optimisation, mixed-integer programming, algorithm design and analysis, and numerical methods
* Excellent computing skills and experience working with relevant programming languages and platforms
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Interest in applied research, consulting, and research commercialisation
* Australian citizenship (highly desirable)
* Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain an Australian government security clearance (highly desirable)
