Our client, a large Federal Government Organisation, whose focus is on foreign signals intelligence, military operations, cyber warfare and information security, are seeking the experience of a Network Engineer.
Duties of the Network Engineer
* Design, implement and maintain the Darwin based organisation's network infrastructure;
* Implement network security remediation and uplift in accordance with the departments and the Darwin based organisation's requirements;
* Configure and troubleshoot network devices such as firewalls, routers and switches;
* Develop and implement network security functionality across networks;
* Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve issues;
* Create documentation to support the Darwin based organisation's networks, including architecture and as-built-as-configured documentation;
* Work closely with the Darwin based organisation's stakeholders and systems owners across multi-disciplinary teams.
Skills and Experience Required
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience implementing and managing WAN/LAN networking;
* Experience implementing security solutions (firewalls, IDS/IPS, segmentation and segregation techniques);
* Knowledge implementing and maintaining network security infrastructure and security solutions;
* Experience in providing network monitoring and reporting activities and Industry certifications or equivalents;
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Cisco networking devices;
* High attention to detail with good communication skills with stakeholders and clients and experienced in technical writing.
Desirable:
* Experience in performing architecture reviews to identify gaps in security;
* Familiarity with operational technology environments and their unique constraints;
* Demonstrate skills in conducting network security risk assessments, which involve evaluating an organisations networks security posture by identifying vulnerabilities, weaknesses and potential threats.
