Field Engineer I Perth
Job Type: Field Worker – Location: Perth – Employment Type: Full time – Permanent – Remote type.
Overview
As a Field Engineer on the WA services team, you will provide high‐level field support for the nbn network. Your role focuses on network integration, augmentation, upgrades, and field audits to maintain connectivity quality and teamwork performance across the nbn network.
Responsibilities
* Support network integration, augmentation and upgrades for passive and active infrastructure.
* Conduct field audits, ensuring connection quality and Delivery Partner performance.
* Oversee assurance activities and execute network element upgrades across FTTP, 5G and HFC technologies.
* Provide on‐site technical support and resolve escalations in GPON, DWDM, Ethernet architecture and RF operations.
* Participate in an on‐call roster and perform scheduled after‐hours work, including statewide travel.
Qualifications
* Strong technical background in maintaining and restoring telecommunications infrastructure.
* Hands‐on experience in field‐based assurance and fault resolution.
* Experience with FTTx technologies, especially FTTP, and a deep understanding of telco architecture inside and outside plant.
* Familiarity with network assurance protocols across Ethernet, DWDM, and GPON.
* Proven problem‐solving skills with a methodical troubleshooting approach.
* Quick learner capable of adapting to evolving technologies and dynamic field conditions.
* Resilient under pressure, flexible, and able to manage competing priorities.
* Highly organized team player with a constructive mindset and proactive approach.
