About the Role
**As the Assistant Director-General you will**:
- Lead a large team driving the achievement meaningful outcomes and delivering on the Government's priorities including an equity and excellence agenda in education.
- Provide strategic and high-level independent advice on operational policies and strategies relevant to state schooling programs, behaviour, disability and child safety.
- Provide strategic leadership in the development of strategies and frameworks that assist principals in their decision making.
- Ensure that all directions from the centre that are outlined in procedures and guidelines do not create a dependency culture in schools.
- Develop strong, effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to influence the direction to improve school programs and school resourcing.
- Implement the Students with Disability National Partnership and the National Definition for Students with Disability.
- Lead the delivery of system priorities and organisational change to achieve a people-oriented high-performance culture that emphasises quality leadership, staff wellbeing, engagement and excellent delivery
This position has 5 direct reports.
