Primary objective
The Teaching and Learning Coach is responsible for leading, coordination and implementing whole school curriculum and assessment
planning across the TESoFL campuses. This position works in close collaboration with the school's leadership team to support the delivery
of the school's explicit Improvement Agenda. This position uses knowledge, skills and understanding of the Australian Curriculum and
senior secondary curriculum (NTCET in the NT) working in a flexible learning context school context.

Context statement
Top End School of Flexible Learning (TESoFL) is a multi-campus, alternative secondary education setting catering to disengaged and at-
risk adolescents within the Darwin, Palmerston, and Rural regions. The school is committed to re-engaging students who are vulnerable
to social exclusion, involvement with the juvenile justice system, poor educational outcomes, unemployment, or are in care. TESoFL
provides a flexible, supportive learning environment tailored to meet the diverse and complex needs of its students.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Undertake an appropriate teaching load and be responsible for specific administrative duties related to service delivery in this setting.

This position is based at the Malak Campus.
2. Lead the implementation of whole school approaches regarding curriculum, assessment and wellbeing, consistent with the school

improvement plans and NT DoE policies and guidelines.
3. Build the capacity of school staff to deliver the Australian Curriculum and NTCET through service delivery that is flexible and

responsive to campus contexts, with particular focus on contextualised curriculum in a flexible learning school.
4. Oversee the collection, organisation, and storage of teaching and learning data, ensuring accuracy, security, and compliance with

privacy regulations. Prepare and present regular reports on teaching and learning programs and students' assessments to inform
improvements to student outcomes.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with a proven ability to build and sustain productive

relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds.
2. Ability to identify and manage research on secondary educational programs and outcomes for EAL/D, students with additional needs

and indigenous students.
3. Excellent organisational and time management skills, with a demonstrated capacity to manage competing priorities and deliver high-

quality outcomes in a dynamic and evolving environment.
4. Proven ability to manage data collection and analysis processes with accuracy and integrity, ensuring compliance and providing clear,

concise reporting to support informed decision-making.
5. Demonstrated self-motivation and ability to remain focused on outputs and to meet program targets in a timely manner.

Desirable
1. Qualification or formal training in leadership.
