The role involves providing high-quality medical secretarial support to GPs and colleagues, advising patients on general enquiries, explaining procedures, and assisting them in accessing practice services effectively.
Main duties of the job include:
1. Providing high-quality, personal secretarial services to GPs.
2. Handling hospital bookings, referrals, meetings management, office management, invoicing, and credit control as required.
3. Managing the GP Plot / Paramedic clinics.
4. Arranging locum cover and liaising with locums about dates and bookings.
5. Managing the practice room planner.
6. Processing SARS via iGPR / requests from solicitors.
7. Managing private work invoicing.
8. Coordinating medical student rotas and inductions.
9. Resolving patient queries professionally in person, via phone, or email.

Job responsibilities
This position involves managing patient enquiries face-to-face and by phone in a busy GP practice, requiring flexibility, accuracy, and excellent customer care skills. Shifts are between 7:30 am and 8:00 pm, Monday to Saturday, with the possibility of additional hours during busy periods or staff leave.
The ideal candidate should be well-organized, personable, polite, patient, and have excellent communication skills. An understanding of primary care systems is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
