Icon Consulting Engineers is a Gold Coast–based structural engineering consultancy delivering a diverse range of projects, including prestige architect-designed dwellings, industrial buildings and light commercial developments .
We are a small, experienced team seeking a capable Structural Engineer or Senior Structural Engineer who enjoys technical variety, takes ownership of their work, and wants hands-on involvement across the full design and construction cycle.
This role is suited to engineers looking for a long-term position within a stable practice, with increasing responsibility and genuine involvement in project delivery.
The Role
You will be responsible for the design and delivery of structural engineering solutions across a wide range of projects, working closely with architects, builders, certifiers and clients.
Responsibilities include:
* Structural design across prestige residential dwellings and industrial/light commercial projects
* Design of reinforced concrete, steel, timber and masonry structures
* Industrial building design including portals, slabs, footings, bracing systems and load paths
* Preparation of engineering drawings, calculations and design documentation
* Coordination with architects, certifiers, builders and clients
* Site inspections and construction-stage engineering support
* For senior engineers: mentoring junior engineers and contributing to design reviews
About You
You are a practical, technically competent engineer who is comfortable managing designs from concept through to construction and takes pride in delivering robust, buildable solutions.
You will ideally have:
* A degree in structural or civil engineering
* Minimum 2–4 years relevant industry experience
(Senior engineers typically 6+ years experience)
* Strong working knowledge of AS1170, AS3600, AS4100, AS1684, AS2870 and the NCC
* Experience delivering residential and/or industrial projects in Australia
* A practical, solutions-focused mindset with strong communication skills
* Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
Senior Structural Engineers with strong hands-on design experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Salary & Conditions
* $85,000 – $120,000 + super, depending on experience
* Salary negotiable for strong candidates with relevant residential or industrial experience
