Job Overview
Our Business Managers (Buyer / Category Manager) are the deal makers within our Merchandise Team. Our business is all about sourcing car parts and accessories in a competitive market and supplying mechanics and enthusiasts via our distribution centres and nationwide store network. We have 15 corporate stores and 75 franchise‐owned member stores, so building relationships and being responsive with our stores and suppliers is critical.
What You'll Do
* Manage all aspects of a product portfolio including car care, tools, accessories and tech products.
* Negotiate trading terms, price, rebates and conduct quarterly/biannual business with key suppliers.
* Manage the product life cycle from end to end, from launch to clearance of slow and obsolete stock.
* Develop and maintain core ranges so that our stores know what they should be stocking.
* Collaborate with Marketing, Store Operations, Distribution, Pricing, IT and eCommerce teams.
What We're Looking For
* A tertiary qualification in marketing, business and/or equivalent.
* 7+ years of proven retail buying experience, ideally within a retail automotive, tools or hardware business.
* Strong negotiation skills and an ability to drive change by working collaboratively across functions.
* Excellent communication and a team‐player mindset, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Proficiency across Microsoft Office, Claude AI, Pronto or similar (SAP/Oracle), Phocas.
