Travel Experience Consultant
We are seeking a Travel Experience Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our leisure team, you will be responsible for creating personalized travel itineraries and delivering exceptional customer service.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for travel and extensive knowledge of global destinations. They will be able to utilize their exceptional customer service skills and build strong relationships with customers face-to-face and online.
Key responsibilities include promoting holiday packages, flights, hotels, cruises, tours, experiences, and insurance; building relationships with customers and managing new enquiries, quotes, itineraries, amendments, and cancellations; facilitating domestic and international travel bookings and payments between travellers and suppliers using Amadeus GDS; converting enquiries into confirmed bookings, cross-selling and up-selling of travel products; managing travel credits, refunds, and changes; attending sales meetings and achieving targets and KPIs; and attending industry events such as supplier and product events, ship inspections, and travel expos.
Our Geelong retail store is open six days a week, Monday to Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday 9am-2pm. Our team works during these hours, with the requirement to attend occasional out-of-office industry events.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Retail travel agency experience is essential.
* Certificate III in Travel or higher is preferred.
* GDS experience in Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo is required.
* Passion for the travel industry and personal travel experience is necessary.
* Great customer service and communication skills are essential.
* Excellent organisational, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills are required.
* Ability to manage workflow, set goals, meet sales targets, and work productively is essential.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team is necessary.
* Excellent personal presentation is required.
