Introduction
We are seeking a motivated and hands‐on Casual Trades Assistant to join our manufacturing team in Seven Hills, Sydney. This role provides essential support to our skilled tradespeople, including machinists, welders, and fitters, helping ensure production runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for flexible, casual work in manufacturing and gaining exposure to skilled trades.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist machinists, welders, and fitters with tools, equipment, and materials
* Support the setup, adjustment, and operation of machinery under supervision
* Transport, load, and unload materials using forklifts, hoists, or manual handling
* Assist with assembly work including grinding, polishing, bolting, and fitting components
* Inspect and measure parts, reporting defects or issues
* Perform basic maintenance of tools and equipment
* Maintain clean, organised, and safe work areas
* Support inventory control by monitoring tools and materials
* Assist with production documentation and record keeping
* Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
Successful Candidates Will Have
* Previous experience in a manufacturing or workshop environment (preferred but not essential)
* Forklift licence (highly regarded)
* Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
* Good attention to detail
* Strong work ethic and positive attitude
* Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
* Commitment to safety
