A well-regarded and growing fund administration business in Sydney is looking for a Fund Controller to join their team and lead a group of fund accountants servicing a diverse client base.
This is a core leadership role within the business - you'll be responsible for the delivery of high-quality fund accounting services to clients, while developing and managing a team beneath you.
The Role
* Lead, manage and develop a team of fund accountants, overseeing day-to-day workflow, reviewing work product and supporting the professional development of the team
* Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements for a range of fund structures and clients, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with relevant accounting standards
* Review and approve NAV calculations, including the valuation of fund assets, accruals, fee calculations and investor allocations
* Oversee distribution calculations, including income attribution and the preparation of distribution statements for investors
* Act as the primary point of escalation for technical accounting queries from the team and clients
* Manage client relationships at a senior level, providing updates on reporting timelines, resolving issues and ensuring service delivery meets expectations
* Liaise with external auditors during the year-end audit process, coordinating the preparation of audit support and managing the audit timeline
* Identify and drive process improvements across the team, including contributing to systems and technology initiatives as the business scales
* Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies and procedures, and support any regulatory or compliance reporting requirements
About You
* Solid experience in fund administration or fund accounting, with a track record of leading teams
* Technically strong across financial reporting and NAV-related work
* Exposure to equities, private markets, or other asset classes is well regarded but not essential - we're focused on the right person
* Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where quality and client service matter
