Allied Health Professional CMH (Huntingtons Disease) - d). The position will be advertised for a qualified Clinical Nurse ) and will be filled on a merit base. The role is a Huntington’s Disease Clinician with autonomy to shape care pathways and deliver tailored interventions, coordinating care across community, inpatient, and outpatient settings within a dynamic multidisciplinary team. Team and role context
The team within the Department of Health Tasmania supports individuals affected by Huntington’s Disease through the Community Mental Health (CMH) program. The multidisciplinary team includes registered nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, and support workers who collaborate to deliver holistic, patient-centred care.
Responsibilities
- Provide case management and therapeutic interventions, education, and support to individuals and families, and other service providers.
- Work within a multidisciplinary framework to coordinate care across community, inpatient, and outpatient settings.
- Contribute to service development and implementation of person-centred care pathways.
- Engage in professional development, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
- Demonstrate robust communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across services.
Role requirements and what we’re looking for
- Extensive experience in case management and working with individuals with complex neurological or mental health conditions
- Knowledge of Huntington’s Disease or willingness to develop in-depth knowledge
- Knowledge of the National Disability Scheme or willingness to develop in-depth knowledge
- Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel within the community as required
- Proficiency in clinical documentation, report writing, and multidisciplinary coordination

Details of appointment
Permanent full-time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours negotiable with the successful applicant. The selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar vacancies for twelve months from the date of publication.
Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum. Employer superannuation contribution of 12% is on top of this amount.
Salary Packaging: Access to salary packaging with living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year, plus other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility
Successful applicants will meet essential criteria including:
- Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional qualification and registration with the relevant National Board or full membership/eligibility with the relevant professional association (self-regulated professions)
- Current registration/licence requirements must remain current and valid; status may be checked during employment
Desirable criteria:
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Post-graduate experience in mental health related to OPMHS, other Mental Health Services, Dementia, or Huntington’s Disease

- Some intrastate and interstate travel may be required
