Job Title: Public Safety Specialist
As a Public Safety Specialist, you will play a vital role in maintaining the security and safety of government assets.
Key Responsibilities:
* Respond to security incidents and alarms;
* Monitor CCTV systems and emergency telephone networks;
* Perform protective security duties, including equipment operation;
* Prepare reports and statements for evidentiary purposes;
* Provide training and induction for new team members;
* Engage with stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service;
* Report security breaches and maintain proficiency in systems and databases;
* Maintain logs and journals as required by policy;
* Provide safe custody services for individuals detained in police facilities;
* Conduct site guarding and transport services for detainees;
* Provide secure conveyance for vulnerable persons;
* Support sworn frontline officers in maintaining security of places and property.
Requirements:
* Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency is required;
* Subject to a criminal history check;
* Shift work is mandatory (24/7);
* Some intrastate travel may be required;
* Participation in SAPOL's iEngage Individual Performance Management program is expected;
* Adherence to the standards set out in the Police Act 1998 and the Police Complaints and Discipline Act 2016 is essential.
