Palm Lake Resort Hervey Bay is seeking dedicated and hands-on Caretaker Couple to manage our resort’s operations, provide outstanding service to residents, and ensure the smooth functioning of the resort.
Key Responsibilities:
As Resort Caretakers, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks to maintain the resort's high standards, including:
- Ensure the resort is clean, secure, and well-maintained, including groundskeeping, pest control, and general repairs. Operate and maintain equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and pool facilities;
- Train and supervise staff to perform their roles safely and effectively;
- Maintain plants, lawns, and common areas, ensuring the resort is pristine and inviting;
- Drive the resort bus for shopping trips and events, and ensure it is clean and roadworthy;
- Read utility meters for water and electricity and manage waste removal in compliance with regulations;
- Uphold Health & Safety standards, respond to emergency incidents, and ensure the resort remains secure;
- Serve meals, clean common areas, and manage basic administrative tasks, including reception duties, staff timesheets, and expenditure tracking;
- Opening and lock up of facilities;
- Foster a positive, cooperative atmosphere among residents and promote the resort's reputation.
What You’ll Bring:
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a proactive, hands-on approach and attention to detail;
- Demonstrates excellent communication and relationship-building skills;
- Has experience with general maintenance, groundskeeping, or a similar role;
- Is capable of managing multiple tasks and prioritising effectively;
- Holds a current driver’s license (required for bus operations);
- Has the ability to resolve disputes and respond to emergencies calmly and professionally;
