We're PAL Accounting & Advisory in Newtown, Geelong. We've got a tight team, good vibes, high standards, and a vision for where we're heading. Now we're looking for a rock-solid Senior Accountant to work alongside our friendly Business Services & Tax Managers and closely with the Director.

Your day-to-day
You'll be the safe hands our Managers and Director rely on. You'll run jobs end-to-end, keep things moving, and submit work that's clean, accurate, and ready to review.
* Collaborate with Managers and the Director on a varied client portfolio with real advisory exposure as you grow
* Prepare and review financials and tax returns across companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
* Turning client financial reports into clear insights and discussing outcomes with managers, directors, and clients.
* Develop solid advice foundations, proactively identifying client needs, and sharing insights with your manager.
* Handle the trickier bits: Capital Gains Tax, Div 7A, PSI, FBT etc
* Be a go-to sounding board for juniors and intermediates and help lift the standard of work across the team
* Lead short internal training sessions when you've got something worth sharing
* Adaptable and proactive: research unknowns, take on ad-hoc requests, and manage multiple tasks with ease.
* Keep jobs on track and stakeholders informed so nothing gets stuck in limbo
* Get broad client exposure across different industries so your week stays interesting

This is
not
a "do the same thing forever" It's a senior role with a direct path to the leadership team (if that's your thing).
It's also not a role where you're expected to run a team, take weekend calls, or live at the office. We work hard during work hours, and then we go home and enjoy life
Sure, once in a blue moon there's a client meeting that pushes a smidge past 5:00. It's rare, it's worth it, and you'll learn a lot.

What you'll bring (essentials)
* CA or CPA qualified (or close to completion with strong experience)
* 5+ years Australian public practice experience in Business Services & Tax
* Strong compliance foundations (financials, tax returns, BAS/IAS as needed)
* Solid software skills (Xero and Excel are standard here)
* Be curious, proactive, and solution-focused
* You live in Australia and have full working rights

Salary
Competitive package starting from
$90k+
(upwards based on experience and exposure).
Sign-on bonus and/or relocation support can be discussed for the right person.
