We are now seeking an Injury and Wellness Specialist to join our Health, Safety & Environment team at Tropicana Gold Mine. Reporting to the Health and Hygiene Superintendent, you will be responsible for the provision of high-quality remote health care related to the management, prevention and treatment of injuries and illnesses. This role is offered on a 4/3 FIFO roster from Perth or Kalgoorlie.
About the Role
* Undertaken worker focused case management to effectively manage safe and timely return of AGA workers to work
* Provide physiotherapy and functional assessment and treatment services to workers on site
* Develop and oversee physical, wellness and fitness programs
* Oversee contractor injury management cases, systems and processes
* Provide technical support to line management for issues such as injury classifications, fitness for work, ergonomic evaluations and return to work programs
* Review medicals and provide advice on suitability, accommodation and fitness to work
* Arrange and undertake assessments for specific groups including the emergency response team and other required medical assessments
* With the Registered Nurses, maintain medical files for Tropicana employees and contractors and ensure the security and confidentiality of records
* Assist the Health and Hygiene Team with accurate reporting of occupational injuries and illnesses
About You
* Tertiary level qualifications in physiotherapy
* Unrestricted registration with AHPRA as a physiotherapist
* Demonstrated knowledge in injury management with practical experience
* Proven knowledge of Western Australia's workers' compensation system
* A hands‐on approach to physiotherapy treatment and assessments ideally in an occupational setting
* Strong interpersonal, influencing, communication and motivating skills
* Previous experience working on a mine site is preferred but not essential
* Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a broader health and safety team
* Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
* Current unrestricted working rights in Australia is mandatory
