Job Title: Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist
About the Job:
This position is responsible for providing a specialist psychology service to vulnerable families within the Sustaining NSW Families (SNF) program. The SNF program is a nurse-led, structured sustained health home visiting program for children and families from pregnancy to 2 years of age.
Key Responsibilities:
* To provide specialist psychology services to vulnerable families within the SNF program
* To conduct complex psychosocial assessments and counselling with families experiencing mental health problems
* To work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised plans for families
* To provide clinical consultation and case review to support family-centred casework within the community-based team
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* A postgraduate qualification in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology or a related field
* Significant experience working with parents and families with infants experiencing complex parental psychosocial and mental health problems
* Demonstrated advanced therapeutic skills in conducting complex psychosocial assessments and counselling
* Ability to respond to the needs of vulnerable families in stressful situations
