About the School
Hester Hornbrook Academy is an independent, Special Assistance School delivering flexible, inclusive education for young people aged 15–25 across Greater Melbourne.
Guided by our trauma-informed HOPE (Healing Oriented Program of Education) framework, we offer integrated academic and wellbeing support through applied learning pathways including VPC, VM, and VETiS. Position Purpose
As Head of Campus - City Hybrid, you will join the Executive Leadership Team and lead the ongoing development of operations, and culture of our new City Hybrid Campus. This is an opportunity to shape a flagship campus that blends face-to-face and virtual learning, while embedding a strong whole-school culture aligned to our HOPE model.
In this dynamic role you will:

- Lead day-to-day operations, compliance, and staff across the new campus
- Build enrolments, networks, and a thriving new community
- Mentor multidisciplinary teams (teachers, youth workers, and support staff)
- Drive student engagement, attendance, and post-school pathways
- Champion inclusive, trauma-informed practice and student safety
- Contribute to strategic planning, performance management, and policy development
- Model strong leadership in hybrid/virtual learning innovation

We are seeking a values-driven educational leader with a proven track record of building culture and leading change. You will bring:

- Experience leading, mentoring, and coaching multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of VRQA requirements, Child Safe Standards, and compliance in education
- Proven capacity to deliver strategic initiatives in secondary education
- Skills in hybrid/virtual learning leadership and innovation
- A deep commitment to trauma-informed, restorative, and relational education
- Experience supporting young people from diverse cultural backgrounds, including LGBTQIA+ students and those facing systemic barriers

Key Selection Criteria (abridged; full details in Candidate Information Pack)

- Relevant teaching or educational leadership qualification
- Current VIT registration (or equivalent professional registration)
- Working with Children Check (Employee), Police Check, and Driver's Licence
- Right to work in Australia
- A commitment to child safety, professional ethics, and continuous improvement

- Proof of identity and right to work in Australia
- Current Victorian Driver's Licence
