Are you a practical, outdoors person who wants to put your skills to work improving Tasmania's rivers, land and farms?
We're looking for someone with solid works experience – maybe you've been on a council crew, in forestry, farming, or other hands-on outdoor roles – who's keen to join our on-ground team.
The Derwent Catchment Project is a community‑based, not‑for‑profit organisation working across the Derwent Valley, Central Highlands and Brighton municipalities. Covering almost one‑sixth of Tasmania, we deliver practical projects to improve land and waterway health.

* Weed control and revegetation across public and private land
* Fencing and farm support works
* Machinery and chainsaw operations
* Nursery assistance and maintenance
What we're looking for
- 3+ years practical outdoor experience (council works, farm, forestry, etc.)
- Chainsaw experience (felling tickets a bonus)
- Physically fit and safety-minded
- Manual driver's licence
- ChemCert (or willing to get one)
Extras we'd value (but not essential):
- Excavator skills
- Fencing and revegetation experience
- GPS data collection
- White card
What you'll get
Varied, outdoor work across some of Tasmania's best landscapes
A close-knit, supportive team
Real impact on river health, biodiversity and local farms
9-day fortnight (38-hour week standard) with time in lieu
