Job Title: Senior Network Engineer - IP Core
Location: Macquarie Park (3 days onsite per week, hybrid)
Contract: 9 months (with potential extension)
Start: Immediate
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer with robust expertise in IP Core Networks to join a growing team. You'll be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of core network solutions, working alongside a small team of engineers and a manager. Due to project requirements and service-level agreements, some after-hours work will be required.
This role will focus on augmenting the existing team to help manage a heavy backlog of work and ensure smooth delivery of business-as-usual (BAU) network changes and design activities.
Responsibilities
Design and implement IP-based network solutions.
Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and data center fabrics.
Lead and support firewall and private cloud network design.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex core network issues.
Maintain templates, documentation, and standard operating procedures.
Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize systems.
Conduct upgrades, patching, and regular maintenance.
Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to meet operational requirements.
Your Profile
10+ years' experience as a Network Engineer at a senior level.
Solid expertise in Cisco and Ericsson technologies (Nokia knowledge beneficial).
In-depth understanding of IP protocols, network architecture, and network security.
Hands-on experience with data center fabrics, including ACI and EVPN-VXLAN.
Solid troubleshooting and implementation skills.
Relevant industry certifications (CCNP/CCIE highly regarded).
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
