Maternal and Child Health Nurse
About the Role:
This is a full-time ongoing role that provides targeted Enhanced Maternal and Child Health (EMCH) services to maximise the health potential of identified children from birth to 6 years old and their families.
* As an EMCH nurse, you will provide in-home support to families experiencing early parenting difficulties through family-focused and collaborative wrap-around care models.
* You will deliver high-quality evidence-based practice with a focus on strengthening parenting capacity, improving family functioning, and prioritising the health and wellbeing of vulnerable children and their families.
* By working closely with protective primary carers, you will empower families to make optimal decisions related to their children's health and development.
* You will also promote health through education and information relating to various aspects of parenting, including breastfeeding, early learning, nutrition, and immunisation.
* In addition, you will identify and address potential risks early on, improve connections with other early childhood support systems, and facilitate system processes for families transitioning to universal platforms when necessary.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A Division 1 Registered Nurse (AHPRA)
* A Registered Midwife (AHPRA)
* A Graduate Diploma or Master's degree in Maternal and Child Health, Family and Child Health, or an equivalent qualification to meet MCH employment requirements in Victoria
* Previous experience as an Enhanced Maternal and Child Health Nurse
* A current Victorian driver's license
* A Working with Children Check
This role requires flexibility and adaptability, with workdays Monday to Friday to meet the growing demands of the EMCH service.
