Northern Midlands Council is seeking applications from Diploma qualified and experienced educators to join the Child Care team at our purpose built Perth Early Learning Centre and at our Cressy service. We have multiple positions available on a Casual basis.

As part of our community services for families and children in the area, the council operates 2 Child Care Services in the Northern midlands, servicing Cressy and Perth. About the roles
We are seeking Diploma Qualified to work across all of our services, including from qualified educators who may only be available for School Holiday periods.
Reporting to the Childcare Director, the successful applicants will provide support and care for children in the centres, in accordance with children's individual development plans, centre policy and relevant legislation.
The role will see you working with a passionate and dedicated team committed to delivering high quality programs and creating a positive environment to support children to thrive and grow.
About you
You will be passionate about your work and take pride in delivering high quality learning outcomes. You will be a great communicator with both adults and children, and you will be proactive in your approach to care and support. You will also have a sound understanding of the health and safety risks involved with working with children and be able to demonstrate sensitivity, patience, and kindness.
You must:
* Hold Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC50121) or equivalent (Essential)
* Have at least 2 years full-time equivalent work experience (not including study placements) as a Cert III or Diploma Qualified Educator (Essential)
* Hold a Tasmanian Working with Children's Check (Essential)
* First aid certificate or willingness to undertake the training
* Be able to pass a pre-employment medical including a musculoskeletal and fitness assessment, and a urine drug & alcohol screen to be performed in Launceston at Council's expense
Applications from candidates who are currently actively working towards the Diploma Qualification and enrolled at TasTAFE will be considered and remunerated at the Working Towards classification under our Enterprise Agreement.

Diploma Qualified applicants will be remunerated in accordance with Classification CSW Level 3, Grade 3 of the Northern Midlands Council Enterprise Agreement This equates to an hourly rate of $ per hour (inclusive of casual loading), plus 13% superannuation.
Applicants who are actively Working Towards Diploma Qualification through TasTAFE will be remunerated at $ per hour (inclusive of casual loading).

Terms and conditions of employment, including salary will be negotiated with the successful applicant and in accordance with the Northern Midlands Council Enterprise Agreement.
