The Opportunity
Our Client is a successful, progressive accounting firm committed to providing exceptional service across tax, compliance, and business advisory. As a Senior Accountant, you will manage a diverse client portfolio, including SMEs, family businesses, and high-net-worth individuals. You will be responsible for overseeing client workflow, reviewing the work of junior staff, and delivering strategic advice, acting as a key point of client contact.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation and review of complex financial statements and income tax returns for various entity structures (companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals).
* Provide high-level tax planning and general business advisory services.
* Manage client relationships, ensuring effective communication and high-quality service delivery.
* Review work prepared by Intermediate and Junior Accountants, providing guidance and constructive feedback.
* Assist Partners and Managers with specialized advisory projects.
* Maintain technical knowledge of Australian tax law and accounting standards.
What You'll Bring
* Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in an Australian Public Practice accounting environment.
* Qualifications: Completed or actively completing your CAANZ or CPA qualification (study support provided).
* Education: A tertiary qualification in Accounting or Commerce (or equivalent).
* Technical Skills: Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation law. Proficiency with key accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB) and practice management software.
* Leadership Skills: Proven ability to review work, mentor junior team members, and manage deadlines effectively.
