Treasury is seeking dynamic senior executives to play a vital role in the delivery of its purpose. Assistant Secretaries (SES Band 1) leverage leadership and collaboration skills to provide trusted and influential policy advice and analysis, building capability and resilience, and managing priorities in short timeframes.
You will lead a Branch including people, governance, financial and risk management and support the First Assistant Secretary and the Deputy Secretary / Director General.
Experience
Strong leadership skills in building and developing high performing and diverse teams.
Well‑developed judgement and strategic thinking skills enabling effective management of high‑priority projects simultaneously.
Extensive experience in managing development and implementation of complex high‑importance policies, programs and work approaches.
Experience in providing trusted and influential advice and analysis, collaborating and harnessing expertise from varied sources.
Exceptional communication skills.
Sound decision‑making skills based in administrative law principles.
Ability to develop productive and cooperative relationships with a range of stakeholders.
Ability to represent the Treasury and the Australian Government in a range of forums both domestically and internationally.
Ability to operate in a quick‑paced and changing workplace.
Desirable Qualifications
Tertiary qualification(s) in economics, accounting, taxation, law, public policy, housing policy, delivery, housing finance or business and commerce.
Relevant experience in housing‑related issues affecting housing supply and affordability, or in macroeconomic forecasting and analysis.
