Overview
Mater Cancer Care Brisbane is currently seeking applications for a Staff Specialist in Medical Oncology. This position will be offered as part‑time (0.60 FTE), fixed‑term contract of 12 months to cover leave, clinics & research.
Responsibilities
* Be part of the on‑call roster, conducting regular inpatient ward rounds which incorporate teaching and direction of patient care.
* Supervise and teach trainee registrars in the outpatient clinic.
* Conduct teaching sessions with undergraduate and postgraduate students.
* Provide adequate recording of consultations and specialist opinion to referring medical practitioners.
* Provide clinical consultancy for Medical Oncology services within Mater Hospital Brisbane & Springfield and for Mater regional sites.
Qualifications
* Medical degree registered with the Medical Board of Queensland.
* Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent.
* Registered as a Medical Oncologist with the Medical Board of Queensland.
* Collaborative and engaging approach to teamwork, positive interpersonal and communication skills, commitment to patient safety and quality improvement, and effective clinical problem‑solving skills.
