The team includes talented Building Designers, Interior Designers, Project Managers, and Business Administrators.

The Opportunity
It's a hands‑on part‑time position (15–20 hours/week over 3-4 days) best suited to someone who enjoys variety, values precision, and likes collaborating with a small, professional team. You will play a key role in keeping our studio running smoothly, working closely with our Director and People & Projects Leader to deliver accurate finance operations, dependable payroll, and practical HR/admin support that underpin our projects and client service. Experience in the design or construction industry is a strong plus.

What you'll do
Partner with leadership on day‑to‑day finance, budgeting and cash flow activities; prepare clear weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
Manage AP/AR, bank reconciliations and respond to client account queries.
Run compliant payroll (fortnightly), superannuation (quarterly), BAS (quarterly) and PAYG (monthly).
Support HR administration and onboarding: draft contracts and starter packs, coordinate inductions, maintain employee records and assist with audits (Fair Work, WHS).
Maintain compliance across ATO, ASIC, Super and employment law; escalate anomalies promptly.
Liaise with our external accountant, banks and auditors as required.
Help improve systems and documentation under our Quality Management System.
Communicate clearly with colleagues, clients and consultants to keep information reliable and relationships strong.

What you'll bring
Proven experience in finance/accounts administration (AP/AR, reconciliations, reporting) with strong attention to detail.
Proficiency with Xero software.
Working knowledge of Australian payroll and compliance cycles (PAYG, BAS, super, Fair Work).
Confident HR/admin support skills across onboarding, records and WHS documentation.
Collaborative, professional communication style and a proactive approach to improving processes.
Nice to have: Experience in a design or construction environment and experience with Total Synergy software.
