About the role
As the UK Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the sales, marketing and operations within our UK product portfolio. From the moment a booking is made to the final step of the journey, you will work closely with suppliers, sales, marketing and operations to ensure trips run seamlessly and exceed expectations. You will balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, proactively identifying risks and opportunities while keeping a close eye on margins, systems and customer experience.
In this role, you will:
* Oversee UK itineraries, bookings and confirmations, working closely with accommodation, transport and luggage transfer providers to deliver high-quality experiences.
* Act as the subject-matter expert for the UK portfolio, monitoring trail conditions, disruptions and industry changes and adjusting plans when needed.
* Line manage sales staff within the UK portfolio, providing coaching, product knowledge and performance management.
* Manage pricing, margins and KPIs, collaborating with finance and costings to maintain sustainable and competitive products.
* Maintain and improve systems, content and the RAW Travel app, ensuring accurate, engaging and client-ready information.
* Partner with marketing to position products, contribute written content and identify opportunities for growth.
* Respond to in-trip issues and client feedback with care, ownership and practical solutions.
* Drive continuous improvement through post-season reviews, supplier feedback and product refinement.
* Lead product development initiatives, from research and competitor analysis to itinerary design and implementation, including on-the-ground destination research where required.
Who we're looking for
You will succeed in this role if you:
* Have proven leadership experience across operations, sales and customer service within the travel or adventure tourism industry.
* Communicate clearly and confidently, with excellent written skills and the ability to engage clients, suppliers and internal teams.
* Understand costing, margins and pricing, and can proactively manage financial performance against targets.
* Are highly organised, detail-focused and comfortable managing multiple priorities across busy seasons.
* Are confident using reservation systems and digital tools, and enjoy improving systems and processes.
* Take ownership, think ahead and approach challenges with practical, solutions-focused thinking.
* Collaborate naturally, value teamwork and enjoy supporting and developing others.
* Are committed to responsible travel that benefits people and planet.
* Are an experienced and enthusiastic adventure traveller with a strong hiking background (preferred).
* Have strong knowledge of UK walking destinations, either professionally or through extensive personal experience (preferred).
