The role
People Manager – Alice Springs
As a People Manager, you will oversee HR operations in Alice Springs, ensuring compliance with local labour laws while fostering a positive and engaging work environment. You will drive the development and implementation of HR programs and policies that support business objectives and enhance employee satisfaction. You will champion a workplace culture that reflects KBR's values of integrity, safety, teamwork, and excellence. Approaching challenges proactively, you continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and deliver better outcomes across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and administer human resources programs, policies, processes, and procedures that attract, retain, and reward employees globally, in alignment with overall business strategy
- Manage the delivery of functional objectives by providing leadership and direction to team members
- Participate in the development of functional strategy and oversee global processes and procedures as required
- Develop, revise, and enforce company policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Maintain confidential employee records and ensure data accuracy
- Foster a positive work culture and promote employee engagement
- Provide guidance to managers on performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions
Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Must be an Australian Citizen and able to hold an Australian Government Security Clearance
- Bachelor's degree in HR management, Business Administration or equivalent
- Extensive experience in human resources supervisory or managerial roles
- Strong understanding of HR practices and principles
- Strong problem‐solving and decision‐making skills, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to KBR's values of safety, integrity, teamwork and excellence
- Experience working in a multicultural environment, with sensitivity to diverse cultural backgrounds
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with employment bargaining agreements
- Knowledge of Australian local labour laws
