Koppers Wood Products is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager at our Manufacturing & Treatment Plant facility in Grafton.
About the role The Assistant Manager supports our Business Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations of the Grafton plant.
This role is key to ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, compliance and customer service.
Responsibilities Assist BM to manage daily plant operations including quality, dispatch, stock control & purchase of consumables Support implementation of the facility's Zero Harm Program including training, risk assessments, audits, incident investigations and compliance Plan, schedule and monitor production activities to meet budget, efficiency and quality targets Assist with reporting requirements, compliance activities and management reviews Lead, train and support staff to ensure safe and efficient work practices Oversee Quality Control, internal audits and reporting requirements Foster positive relationships with suppliers, contractors and service providers Focus on building & maintaining a positive work culture, with a focus on safety & wellbeing What we're looking for 2yrs+ experience in Timber Manufacturing/Treatment (or similar industry) preferred 1yr+ people management experience or studies Understanding of Budgeting, Payroll, Ordering and Accounting principles Understanding of Timber Technology A hands-on leader who works well with people and leads by example Ability to communicate and liaise with a wide range of people Sound Mechanical understanding Strong focus on safety, quality and compliance Why join us Opportunity to establish a long term career with a thriving subsidiary of a global company Supportive team environment in an organisation with strong values Tools of trade Immediate start available This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in driving operational performance, safety and profitability at KWP.
