Duties:
· Operate with various attachments: Excavators, Pozi Tracks, Dumpers and HR Trucks
· Lead a team safely and proficiently on any worksite in the absence of a supervisor
· Operate heavy machinery often in difficult access and terrain
· Set out levels according to plans
· Excavate according to plans
· Lay concrete and sandstone blocks accurately and safely
· Identify hazards or issues in advance to minimise work disruption
· Order required materials for jobs
· Ensure all equipment needed is taken to and returned from site
· Report any incidents including near misses
Requirements:
· Have proven experience which will be confirmed during probation period operating Excavators, Dumpers, Pozi Tracks, Rollers, Tipper trucks, Beavertail Truck.
· Possess leadership skills to manage client expectations and other staff.
· Possess management skills to manage required material, tools and equipment for projects.
· Knowledge of basic heavy machinery maintenance i.e., greasing, oil, coolant and track tension and replacement.
· Be able to shift tasks at short notice as directed by Hillcrest Excavations
· At all times adhere to Hillcrest Excavations and Vegetation Management policies and procedures
Desirable:
· Worked in a similar role.
· Mechanical knowledge of heavy machinery.
· Can weld safely
· Understanding of engineering principles
· Working with Chipper and Chainsaws
· Road Ranger Bogey or ability to obtain
Remuneration:
· $35-$40/hr pending experience and demonstration of skills
· Penalty Rates
· Annual Leave and Public Holidays in accordance with the NES
· Annual Leave loading of 17.5%
