Casual Disability Support Worker – Male Staff Required | Albany Creek QLD

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and patient Casual Disability Support Worker to support a male participant with an acquired brain injury (ABI) living in Albany Creek. The role requires strong English communication skills and the ability to follow structured routines, mobility plans, and therapeutic exercises.

Location: Albany Creek, QLDEmployment Type: CasualClient Needs:

* Assistance with Daily Living (ADLs)
* Mobility support using walking aids
* Support with practising prescribed home exercises
* Cooking and household cleaning
* Showering and personal care when required

Gender Preference: Male candidates preferred (as per participant request)Start Date: Immediate availability desirable

Shift Requirements

* Longer day shifts, up to 10 hours
* Shifts typically start in the morning and run through to the evening
* Flexibility to work extended daytime shifts is essential
* Additional shifts and weekend shifts may be offered based on participant needs

Key Responsibilities

* Provide safe, respectful personal care when required
* Assist with showering, hygiene, grooming, and dressing
* Support with mobility, including safe use of walking aids
* Assist with practising specialist exercises as instructed by therapists
* Assist with meal preparation, light cooking, and domestic tasks
* Maintain a clean and safe home environment
* Encourage independence and wellbeing
* Complete documentation, progress notes, and incident reporting
* Uphold NDIS Practice Standards and TrueSupport values

Must have Qualification and Experience

* Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability. Applicants who have or are in the process of obtaining qualifications in this or a related field of study are encouraged to apply.
* Previous experience of 12 months or more, supporting and caring for participants with mental health and behavioural challenges, will be highly regarded.
* NDIS Worker Screening Check.
* Valid Australian driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle with fully comprehensive insurance.
* Current First Aid + CPR certificate.
* Blue Card, Yellow Card.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
* Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Compassion, patience, and respect shown to clients at all times is a must.
* Applicants living in or near Albany Creek will be given preference due to shift length and reliability requirements
