The Opportunity
The Commercial Manager is a critical role within the Project Controls team, leading Project Controls across the Alliance package of works and reporting to the Project Manager. You will oversee the Cost Control, Procurement and Contracts, and Finance Administration functions to ensure strong governance, adherence to procurement, contracting and financial processes, and delegations of authority. This involves cost planning, accurate daily cost capture, detailed quantity-based cost forecasting, subcontractor payments and variations, head contract progress claims, and incremental revenue management including scope variations.
Responsibilities
* Full compliance with commercial procedures and usage of tools and systems to ensure transparent, timely, and accurate cost tracking and reporting to inform timely, decisive actions in the management of project costs.
* Managing Revenue and Cost Control processes and monitoring financial performance of the Work Package including upstream adjustment events, scope variations, downstream variations, actual/invoiced costs, accruals, and forecasts to complete.
* Lead the Procurement and Contracts team and processes.
* Cost planning, accurate daily cost capture, detailed quantity-based cost forecasting (including earned value management), subcontractor payments and variations.
* Head contract progress claims and incremental revenue management including scope variations, adjustment events and KRAs, insurance claims, escalation, risk and opportunity, and contingency.
Required Skills And Competencies
* Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Commerce, Finance, Legal, Civil Engineering or similar.
* Minimum 8 years of experience in senior cost forecasting and control with significant commercial accountability.
* Exposure to an Alliance model is desirable but not essential.
* Experience in a complex project environment.
