Overview
Join Australia's Leading Digital Health Services Team. Telecare is a fast-growing digital health company delivering high-quality telehealth coordination services nationwide. We partner with hospitals, clinicians, insurers, and healthcare organisations to improve access to care through innovative technology and a highly responsive service team. We're looking for a hands-on, build-focused Software Engineer (AI-Fluent) to join our team. If you're genuinely passionate about AI, love building things that matter, and are equally comfortable in a code editor and a client meeting, this could be the role for you.
Why Join Us
* Stable, full-time opportunity in a growing tech-enabled health company
* Meaningful work, what you build genuinely powers healthcare delivery across Australia
* Supportive and collaborative team culture with structured onboarding from day one
* Career development, learning, and progression opportunities
* Client-facing exposure, present and demonstrate your work to government and healthcare partners
* A forward-looking organisation investing in AI, digitisation, and continuous improvement
About The Role
This is a mid-level or for those looking to step up into Senior, hands-on engineering role that sits at the intersection of software development, AI tooling, and client-facing delivery. You'll design, build, and iterate on internal and client-facing digital systems, turning operational workflows and product ideas into working, scalable technology. Working closely with the Product Owner, operations teams, and external stakeholders, you'll ensure what gets built is practical, well-executed, and aligned with Telecare's strategic priorities. The role doesn't require prior experience at a senior level, but does demand initiative, a proactive mindset, and genuine enthusiasm for AI.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, build, and iterate on digital systems using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude
* Write clean, maintainable code while leveraging AI tooling to accelerate development and improve output quality
* Lead or support the digitisation of internal processes, automating manual workflows through technology
* Review existing systems and identify inefficiencies; recommend and deliver product-led or technical solutions
* Represent Telecare's technology capabilities in client meetings, product demos, and stakeholder presentations
* Communicate technical solutions clearly to non-technical audiences, including government and healthcare stakeholders
* Collaborate with the Product Owner and operations teams to align development priorities with business outcomes
* Support compliance with Telecare's governance and security frameworks, including ISO 27001 principles
* Participate in sprints, planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
What We're Looking For
* Hands-on experience writing code with AI tools (Claude or similar), this is central to how you work, not an afterthought
* Genuine enthusiasm for building AI-powered products, automations, and workflows
* Confidence presenting and demonstrating technology solutions to external stakeholders
* Strong relationship-building skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
* Clear written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
* Familiarity with ISO 27001 or regulated environments is highly desirable
* Exposure to healthtech, healthcare systems, or clinical workflows is desirable but not required
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience desirable but not essential
* Australian citizenship required for our client engagements
If you enjoy writing code with AI tools, digitising real-world workflows, presenting technology to clients, and being part of a team where what you build genuinely matters, we'd love to hear from you.
