The Assistant Director for School Infrastructure Management (SIM) will manage a network team responsible for repairs and maintenance, Asset Renewal Program, and the management and remediation of Hazardous Materials. The Assistant Director will oversee the planning and management of repairs and maintenance works, infrastructure upgrades and hazardous material management whilst managing their own strategic network projects. The Assistant Director will be the primary contact for all school infrastructure matters within a designated school network and assists schools with annual maintenance planning, and completion of infrastructure upgrades. The position requires a sound general knowledge of ACT Government policies including ACT Government Procurement guidelines, plans and strategies relating to repairs and maintenance hazardous material management, and a proven ability to interpret legislation, regulations and other guideline material relating to the operations and functions of their work area. The Assistant Director will report to the School Infrastructure Management Senior Director on project related matters as directed. Eligibility/Other Requirements: Mandatory Compliance Requirements / Qualifications Hold a relevant professional qualification in Engineering, Architecture or Facility Management or accreditation with a professional body recognised within Australia; or hold a relevant building degree; have significant building or Infrastructure knowledge and/or facility management experience. Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required.
