Vault Cloud is the national leader of providing highly secure and hyperscale sovereign cloud capability to the Australian Government, National Intelligence Community and Critical Infrastructure sector. We pioneered the development of Australia’s only sovereign, hyperscale cloud with security at its core, being one of the first cloud organisations to be Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) certified and we continue to drive innovation, delivering First of a Kind capability across the sector.
As we continue to lead in technological advancements, Vault is now entering a defining phase of growth with a strategic $22.5 million investment from the National Reconstruction Fund Corporation (NRFC). This investment will scale Vault's SECRET Cloud and introduce new services such as the AUKUS cloud capability, directly addressing Australia's strategic national security demands. Vault is now positioned to not only strengthen its existing relationships with federal and state government agencies, but also strengthen its relationships with private sector businesses requiring secure cloud storage. To support this growth, we are bolstering our capability by adding numerous key roles that are integral to our future success. About The Role:
This is a pivotal role, reporting directly to the CIO, where you'll be empowered to shape the Cloud Operations team in your own leadership vision. You will lead multiple teams (Infrastructure, Network, Applications) along with the Service Desk Lead, and play a vital role in the technical operation of Vault’s highly secure cloud services for some of the nation’s most critical customers.
You'll oversee and uplift service management across our OpenStack cloud environment, modernise platforms, uplift and drive ITIL compliance, and champion service excellence in a high-consequence environment.
You will be responsible for:
* Leading technical operations across Vault’s cloud infrastructure and services.
* Implementing, uplifting and maturing ITIL-based processes and frameworks..
* Shaping and scaling a high-performing operations team.
* Engaging in continuous improvement of service delivery, vendor management, and platform modernisation.
* Being a key stakeholder in the development and implementation of Vault’s new Vault products and services, including AI.
To be successful you will be able to demonstrate:
* Proven experience of successfully leading and managing a technical Operations team to deliver high performance and operational excellence. Strong leadership skills are absolutely essential to being successful in this role.
* Technical leadership in service operations through the ITIL framework.
* Alignment with our Core Values in adding positive value to our culture
* Experience in supporting a 99.99% or higher, 24/7 mission-critical environment, preferably in a military/Defence context
* The ability to communicate to successfully influence all levels of stakeholders and engage them in executing strategic initiatives.
Note: The scope of this role requires an Australian Government Security Clearance; therefore, applicants must be Australian Citizens and have the ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
