Job Description
The Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Transmission Project will build new high‐capacity transmission lines, energy hubs and supporting infrastructure to transfer power generated by solar and wind projects to electricity consumers. The new infrastructure is expected to be operational by 2028 and will initially unlock up to 4.5 gigawatts of new network capacity. Our project currently seeks dedicated Supervisors across multiple disciplines – Electrical, Civil, Structural, Cables Termination, Towers, Stringing and Commissioning – to share expertise within our growing Transmission Lines & Towers Energy Hubs and Substations team.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure all construction works meet specifications and relevant standards.
* Take responsibility for the quality of work under supervision.
* Ensure compliance with specifications, relevant standards, and Code of Practice.
* Check that actions required under Hold and Witness Points are performed before work commences.
* Ensure all workers have received a project‐specific induction explaining hazards and control measures.
* Maintain a zero tolerance for unsafe work practices and equipment with serious safety or environmental impact.
* Ensure the project team completes outstanding defects as a priority.
* Record non‐conformances and initiate corrective actions.
* Provide positive leadership to subcontractors, monitor and control performance, and ensure workmanship quality.
* Drive a commitment to quality throughout the organisation.
* Comply with all ACEREZ D&C management system procedures, including Plant Operator Assessments, Daily Checklists, Weekly Checklists and required permits.
* Participate in the preparation of Safe Work Method Statements and JSA cards, ensuring controls are implemented and reviewed.
Required Skills and Competencies
* Prefer 5+ years' experience in electrical, civil, structural, cables termination, stringing, towers, commissioning, or similar trade packages as a supervisor.
* Experience working on large‐scale renewable energy transmission lines, towers, substations or similar infrastructure projects.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others.
* Strong problem‐solving and analytical skills.
* Understanding of specifications and drawings.
* Experience managing subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and procedures.
* Demonstrated leadership skills.
* Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements.
* Competency in planning and organising work schedules.
* Working knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementation.
* Self‐confidence and the ability to persuade, convince or impress others to gain commitment and cooperation.
* Strong multi‐tasking ability and sound judgement, including balancing competing issues.
* Ability to issue clear directions to construction workers.
* Clear verbal and written communication.
Other Information
Supervisor positions are DIDO out of Sydney: 14 days on‐site in camp‐style accommodation and 7 days off‐site, on a roster‐based arrangement for the Central West Orana Transmission Line Project.
