Job Title: Parliamentary Support Officer
This role offers a unique opportunity to develop knowledge and expertise in Senate practice and procedure.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide administrative support to the Senate, facilitating chamber proceedings by preparing documents including the Order of Business (the 'Red') and monitoring events.
* Update captions for the broadcast system as the Senate moves through its business.
* Prepare rosters and reports for various committees, including the Selection of Bills Committee.
* Support senators and their staff with inquiries from the Clerk Assistant and the Table Office.
* Assist the Senators' Interests Committee in maintaining the Register of Senators' Interests.
The successful candidate will work under general supervision, demonstrating attention to detail and managing competing priorities in a time-pressed environment.
