As the Venue Manager at Winston, you'll be responsible for the overall operation, atmosphere, and performance of a small cocktail bar built around music, hospitality, and thoughtful drinks.
Winston is a late-night HiFi listening bar in Northbridge with a focus on classic cocktails, rotating weekly cocktail list which you will be in charge off, jazz and blues, and a relaxed but detail-oriented guest experience.
This role combines service leadership, cocktail program development, and venue management to ensure the bar operates smoothly while maintaining the character and atmosphere Winston is known for.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily venue operations and oversee service
Develop four new cocktails each week for the rotating Wednesday menu
Train and support staff in cocktail preparation and service standards
Maintain high standards of venue cleanliness and organisation
Manage the customer experience, atmosphere, lighting, and music
Monitor stock levels, ordering, and stock control
Handle guest feedback and maintain a welcoming environment
Submit nightly operational reports after each service
Support the ongoing development of Winston's cocktail and music identity
About You
Minimum 2 years hospitality management experience, including back of house POS knowledge, managing pricing and COGS
Strong cocktail knowledge and interest in drink development
Confident leading a small team during busy service
Values cleanliness, presentation and well-run service
Comfortable working evening and late-night hours
Passionate about hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
Interest in music culture, particularly jazz, blues, or vinyl listening environment
The Role
This is a hands‐on management position in a small venue where the manager helps shape both the drinks program and the overall feel of the room.
The right person will enjoy balancing creative cocktail development with practical venue management while maintaining the relaxed but thoughtful atmosphere Winston is known for.
