Details: The City Renewal Authority is responsible for guiding the evolution of central Canberra through design‑led, people‑focused urban renewal that supports vibrant, sustainable precincts.
In this role, you’ll help shape key renewal projects by bringing together design insight with an understanding of the factors that influence when and how land is developed. Your work will contribute to the creation of well‑designed public spaces and precincts that support Canberra’s long‑term growth.
We’re looking for someone with experience in complex urban projects, sound design judgement, and awareness of the commercial context shaping development. If that sounds like you, we want to hear from you.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:
* Tertiary qualifications in architecture, or commensurate demonstrated experience in urban renewal projects, is highly desirable.
* Minimum of 10 years’ experience, specifically in urban renewal and public realm related projects, managing large-scale design projects.
* Knowledge and experience of architectural, engineering or landscape related software such as Adobe Suite, CAD, and GIS.
Note: This is a temporary position available 12 May 2026 until 11 May 2029. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
