We're looking for a passionate Food Technologist to join our New Product Development (NPD) team. You'll be one of three Food Technologists reporting to our Head of Product Development, working closely together to create innovative, on-trend products that excite consumers and deliver results for our clients.
This role is perfect for someone who's a true foodie, the kind of person who gets inspired in supermarket aisles, keeps an eye on café menus and loves spotting the next food trend before it hits the shelves.
This is a full-time remote role, but you'll need to be based in the Inner Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne for occasional in-person work with our team and partners.
What You'll Be Doing
* Develop & Create: Formulate and launch innovative products across beverages, Formulated Supplementary Sports Foods (FSSFs), sauces and bars.
* Trend to Table: Turn market trends and client visions into commercially ready products that stand out.
* Hands-On Development: Run trials, sensory testing, and shelf-life evaluations to perfect flavour and performance.
* Regulatory & Technical: Ensure compliance with FSANZ and food safety standards (TGA or pet food experience is a big bonus).
* Organise & Optimise: Help manage ingredient inventories, specs and documentation as we scale.
* Collaborate & Communicate: Confidently present ideas and progress to clients, manage feedback and communicate clearly with internal teams and suppliers.
Who You Are
* 2-5 years of experience taking food products from concept to commercialisation.
* Strong grounding in food science, sensory evaluation, and ingredient functionality.
* Excellent communicator - confident in client meetings, comfortable sharing ideas, and professional in follow-up.
* Creative, proactive and passionate about Australian food culture and market trends.
* Confident in navigating the Food Standards Code (TGA or pet food knowledge also highly regarded).
* Self-motivated, solutions-driven and comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
* Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology or equivalent.
