Department
Alfred Mental & Addiction Health (AMAH) operates services focusing on people with severe mental illness in the Inner Southeast area of Melbourne. Its goal is to create an environment that facilitates clinical recovery and supports individual recovery efforts.
Role Overview
Alfred Mental and Addiction Health is recruiting a passionate, change‑capable leader to develop the lived/living experience (LLE) workforce during a period of transformation. The Director of Consumer LLE will oversee the strategic development, implementation, and evaluation of mental health LLE service provision, including inpatient and community‑based services. This senior position will sit within the executive team, lead and support effective participation of people with lived experience of mental illness in decision‑making about innovation, policies and programmes, and implement the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System recommendations.
Essential Qualifications / Experience
* Minimum 5 years of experience in a Consumer LLE field, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
* Demonstrated experience working from an LLE perspective (e.g., consumer consultant, peer support role in mental health services, or LLE roles within mental health peak bodies).
Desirable Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as health, education, community development or welfare.
* Completion of lived experience training (e.g., Intentional Peer Support or Certificate 4 in Mental Health Peer Work).
Other Relevant Information
* Current Victorian Driver's Licence.
* Current working rights visa.
* Satisfactory completion of a Police Check.
* Satisfactory completion of Working with Children Check.
