The Opportunity
We're seeking an experienced Production / Project Manager to oversee our busy workshop operations across fabrication (including laser cutting), machining, and painting.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll guide a skilled team, drive productivity, and ensure our projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead & Mentor: Supervise and support workshop staff to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals
* Plan & Coordinate: Manage production schedules, resources, and daily operations to meet DIFOT and customer commitments
* Quality & Compliance: Ensure output meets customer and industry standards, with strict adherence to WHS protocols
* Engage & Communicate: Collaborate with production, planning, and clients to solve challenges and maintain strong relationships
* Drive Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimise processes and lead continuous improvement initiatives

About You
To succeed in this role, you'll bring:
Essential:
* 5+ years' experience supervising in a fabrication or machining workshop environment
* Strong technical knowledge of fabrication, machining processes, and industry standards
* Proven ability to read and interpret detailed technical drawings
* Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
* Solid knowledge of WHS practices and commitment to safety culture
* Proficiency in basic computer systems and ERP/production tracking tools
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable:
* Trade or engineering qualifications
* Experience in managing multi-discipline teams (fabrication, machining, painting)
* Exposure to Lean or Continuous Improvement initiatives
